![]() ![]() Yuyuan is the most famous garden in the city. When it comes to things do in Shanghai in 3 days both attractions are near the top of the list. Tickets cost 24 - 600 and the journey takes 1h 5m. Alternatively, Shanghai Airport Authority operates a bus from Shanghai Pudong Airport T2 to Jingan Temple Station every 15 minutes. Tickets cost 3 - 10 and the journey takes 1h 9m. Located in the very heart of Puxi district, Yuyuan Gardens and Bazaar are my favorite spots to get a glimpse of medieval China. Shanghai Metro operates a vehicle from Pudong International Airport to Jingan Temple every 10 minutes. Now that we have seen the temple I will only go back when my parents visit, I do not need to see it again. You can reach the Temple from the Jing’an temple station. It wasn't too busy (four days before the new lunar year) so it was very pleasant to walk around. Same thing for my wife (she isn't local either) luckily we had cash (can't remember the last time we carried any so we were sent inside and off into the room at the right, under the bell tower, which seems to be a place just for donations there was a walled area in the middle with coins and notes, like a dry wishing well. That was after trying to buy tickets - scanned a QR code, requested a text verification but it never came. This area revolves around Jingan Temple, a beautiful Buddhist temple, and its a cool neighborhood where youll be within walking distance of the main spots of. Having seen the temple from outside on a number of occasions (living in in Shanghai since summer 2020) we finally got around to being in the area when it is open so we went in. In the first year of Xiangfu, namely in 1008, a man called Song Dazhong changed its name to Jing'an Temple. It is said that Jing’an Temple could be traced back to the 10th year of Chiwu in the Three Kingdoms, namely in 247, firstly named as Hudu Chongxuan Temple. ![]() It say here that 2-3 hours is needed we were there for less than one and that was fine. Shanghai Jing'an Temple is one of the oldest temples in Shanghai. Tickets are 50RMB - open daily 7am to 5pm according to Smart Shanghai). ![]()
